During the pandemic, many people have opted to attempt entrepreneurship instead of continuing to work 9-5 jobs that are in jeopardy.
Making money is obviously the end goal, but it can be hard to build up enough momentum to start a business that’s worth millions of dollars. Chris Chong is the owner of three successful businesses, and he wants to tell you the four core habits that have made his success possible.
Wake up early
Since you get to set your own schedule as an entrepreneur, it might be tempting to snooze your alarm and wake up late. However, mornings are a great time to escape from the stress of the day and get some work done for yourself. “I try to wake up as early as I can so that I can greet the day,” Chong said. “The earlier I wake up, the better I feel.” Chong suggests starting to wake up earlier gradually, just setting your alarm for 15 minutes earlier every week. “Eventually, you’ll be up before the sun rises.”
Set daily business goals
You need to know what you want to accomplish in a day before it starts. You shouldn’t just be working to work. “A bullet journal or to-do list can help immensely. Pick at least one to three big picture things that you want to work on.” It can also help to set long-term goals that you can chip away at every day with tangible steps.
Outsource busy work
As the owner of your company, you should be focused on the high-level operations of your business. Even though it might save you money in the short term, you shouldn’t be sending out customer emails or making spreadsheets. “Hire someone to do this work for you, even if they’re just a freelancer on Fiverr. I guarantee that your business will grow exponentially once you’re freed up to work on the big stuff.”
Track your stats
In order to know how well your business is going, you need to track your statistics, especially sales. “You won’t know where to improve if you don’t spend time reviewing the stats of your business. I recommend doing this regularly, but at least once a month, or after a huge marketing push.” This will let you know what to concentrate on in the future.
Becoming a multimillion-dollar business owner is within your reach. You simply have to do the work and adopt the right habits to make it a reality.
