The Difference In Names
THC and CBD
THC is a psychoactive substance that gets you high. Hemp oil, also called hemp seed oil, contains CBD and no THC, but other oils contain detectable levels of THC.
Cannabis Sativa includes over 100 different cannabinoids, cannabis and hemp and all of them belong to the same family of plants. The two most well-known cannabinoids are THC and CBD. THC is the abbreviation of the word Tetrahydrocannabinol and CDB is the abbreviation of the word Cannabidiol.
CBD-experts never sell products that contain THC.
Cannabis Sativa and Hemp Seed Oil
There are different names for the oils that are made from Cannabis Sativa. Think of hemp (seed) oil, CBD oil, cannabis oil, THC oil – all these oils containing THC are illegal and come from cannabis or marijuana.
However, the CBD oil or hemp seed oil is made with industrial hemp, the legal cousin of the cannabis plant.
What is Hemp Oil?
Hemp oil is often hemp seed oil. These are cold pressed industrial hemp seeds. This hemp is used in the production of fibers for construction and the automotive industry. The hemp plant has seeds that can be pressed, peeled, or unpeeled. Then the product is transformed into oil.
Moreover, the oil is characterized by its fine and sweet taste and has high levels of unsaturated fatty acid that are omega 3 and 6. This oil does not contain cannabinoids like THC or CBD. The oil is mainly used to simplify the dosage of beneficial CBD.
What is CBD Oil?
CBD oil is made from the flowers and buds of hemp, these oils do not contain THC. This is a compound oil and contains CBD which is only used for medical purposes. The oil is often diluted with hemp or olive seed oil to improve the taste and make dosing easier so it does not contain THC and this is the reason why this oil is legal in most nations.
The THC level further decreases when producing CBD products. CBD oil is available in different strengths and in several mixtures.
What is Cannabis Oil?
The names cannabis oil and THC oil are often used for the same product. This oil is made from cannabis and contains a high concentration of the substance THC. Often people want to get high, but the medicinal effect is supported by more and more clinical research.
Cannabis oil is made from the resin of the female cannabis plant. With the help of alcohol, you can separate the plant and the resin. During this process the buds are immersed in alcohol, this process is called extraction. When the resin is dissolved in alcohol, the alcohol is evaporated and then a thick syrup with a high THC level is obtained.
What is THC Oil?
As mentioned above, THC oil comes from the cannabis plant which contains a high level of THC. The resin of the female plant is extracted with alcohol. The process can be done in different ways, but most of the time, the Rick Simpson method is used. The THC level depends on the strain of cannabis used to make the THC oil.
