WordPress Vs. ClickFunnels: Which Software Builds Better Websites?

WordPress Vs. ClickFunnels: Which Software Builds Better Websites?

Is WordPress or ClickFunnels better for building a website that helps to grow a thriving business or blog? Here’s our full review.

WordPress and ClickFunnels are both phenomenal tools.

With each, you can create a beautiful website that helps to grow your business by generating leads and making sales. You can drive traffic, publish content, and build an audience.

You can get seen.

However, while both services are great at what they do, WordPress and ClickFunnels do quite different things.

Let’s start by discussing the biggest difference of all.

The BIG Difference Between WordPress and ClickFunnels

To understand the difference between WordPress and ClickFunnels, you first need to understand the evolution of the website and the sales funnel.

In the early days of the internet, it didn’t take long for marketers to figure out that being online (i.e. having a website) was an important business move.

Building a website allowed online consumers and customers to find your business, browse your offers, and eventually, even buy.

But now every business has a website, every entrepreneur is online, and almost every target market uses the web to purchase products — sunglasses, mattresses, and shoes, even.

Because of that, having a website no longer strategically differentiates your businesseveryone has a website.

That’s why we created the sales funnel.

A sales funnel is a series of pages that are intentionally crafted to guide the visitor to take the exact action that you want them to take (buy a product, opt-in to your email list, etc).

And it converts far better than a website.

Think of a website as a digital brochure for your business — it’s helpful for people who want to aimlessly browse and maybe learn a little about what you do, but it’s not ideal for getting people to take one specific action.

Traditional Website Broken Site Flow

A sales funnel, on the other hand, is phenomenal at getting people to convert because the entire experience is psychology crafted to guide them toward conversion, one page at a time.

ClickFunnels Sales Funnel Flow Diagram

That’s the biggest difference between these two services — WordPress builds websites and ClickFunnels builds sales funnels.

And which service you choose really will depend on what you’re trying to do — do you want a basic website where people can browse and learn about your business? Or do you want a sales funnel that will help you sell more products and get more conversions?

Or maybe you want both… WordPress has a ClickFunnels plugin that allows you to connect your accounts, so that is certainly a possibility — especially if you want to combine the versatility of WordPress with the selling power of ClickFunnels.

TL;DR Overview of WordPress Vs. ClickFunnels

Code Customizations

If you’re familiar with JavaScript, HTML, PHP, and CSS, then you can customize pretty much anything on your WordPress website. Built-In Blog

About 35% of websites on the internet are running on WordPress. And many of those websites are blogs — for good reason, WordPress is perhaps the best website builder for bloggers who need a platform to share their ideas. It allows you to easily build an email list, post new content with featured images, optimize that content for search engines, and more. Most WordPress themes come with built-in blogging capabilities.

WordPress Blog Post Creator Panel

Image Editing

When you’re creating a page or writing a blog post within WordPress, you can edit any of your images — crop them, resize them, add a caption, or change the alt text — all with a few clicks.

Content Editor

Perhaps the most powerful feature that WordPress offers is its content editor. You can add a page or blog post to your website with a single click. And you can easily edit any content on the page. There isn’t a drag-and-drop editor included, unfortunately (unless you get a plugin like Elementor or Divi), but you can still make lots of HTML customizations to any content on your website.
